February Flavor of the Month: Ube & Coconut Macarooz
To celebrate Chinese New Year and commemorate the Year of the Pig, we decided to create macs using a rare yam called Ube. This sweet purple yam is commonly found throughout southeast Asia, South America, Africa, Australia, and southeastern United States. It is commonly known as Ube in the Philippines. However, this rare delicacy goes by many different names depending on where you are in the world. No matter where you are, you can bet that this yam is used in a variety of delicious desserts. The most popular pairing is Ube & Coconut. As this is the case, we paired our ube flavored shells with ube white chocolate ganache and a dollop of coconut creme in center.
